Following your initial consultation, you may require a site visit, further drawings, information or clarifications or a sketch scheme to be produced. Arki can help you to further develop your outline level design, investigate related issues, produce sketch perspective illustrations, and produce scheme level options for you to consider.

To enable Arki prepare useful drawings of your proposals, it is necessary to have drawings of the existing building in a CAD (computer aided drawing) format. For most projects precision is vital, for others, less so. We can advise you on what is suitable for your project.

The survey consists of a thorough site visit in most cases, where accurate measurements and photographs are taken of the property and site, in order to assist with the CAD production to an accurate level.

In some cases where existing plans already exist and the client is clear from the outset on what they require, we may be able to streamline the whole process and produce CAD drawings without visiting the site, to keep costs down.

Statutory consents, more commonly referred to as 'planning permission', are the permissions usually from your local authorities that you require in order to carry out the changes you wish to make to your property. Arki can assist you in completing and submitting the relevant consents for your project, from permitted development applications to planning applications, building regulations applications and other consents such as listed building consents and conservation area consents.

Arki can assist you with all parts of the building preparation work, coordinate and liaise with the relevant parties associated with your project, such as contractors, structural engineers, building control inspectors, kitchen fitters etc, to try and ensure that things will run as smooth as possible and step in when any party need technical help, clarifications or further guidance.

We can supply structural design and calculations for any steelwork or structure required to meet the satisfaction of your local Authority Building Control Service for any building or structural work, as well as help you to identify good local contractors to carry out the building works for you, or recommend regular contractors that we work with regularly.

The more detail that you have in the way of drawings and information, the more control you will have over your project both in terms of quality and budget. Your architectural consultant along with your builder will be able to advise you on the best level of detail for your project where appropriate.

Throughout the whole process from concept to finished project, Arki will be there to help as much or as little as you want, who will be happy to administer the whole contract for you or just attend a few meetings to check on progress. Your architect will be able to help you decide which level of service would be suitable for your project and budget.
